UIC Co-lead

Makalia Benson began co-building developmental environments with people from different socio economic and political backgrounds with the Development School for Youth (DSY) program of the All Stars Project. Co-leads the improvscience Uncomfortable Independent Conversations. She is an esthetician who has immersed herself in the development and performance-based approach used at improvscience. With Makaila, the UIC becomes a place for learning, growth and unpacking generational trauma, all while conversing with others and having the privilege to learn about their experience of race and politics.
